A hotel power-bank cabinet can look unchanged after several months in storage while its operating assumptions have changed. The Wi-Fi password may be different, the support contact may have left, and last season’s return instructions may point to a closed entrance. Reopening should be a small acceptance exercise, not simply a power-on.
This plan is for an Austrian hotel using a matched CoreCharge reader-ready cabinet. It produces a dated reopening sheet that the operator and reception team can sign before offering the service to guests. It describes a proposed operating procedure, not a report of an existing Austrian installation.
Recover the last known configuration
Find the cabinet identifier, reader serial, local payment-account owner, venue address and previous tariff. Compare the physical equipment with that record before replacing cables or changing account settings. If the station was moved during the closure, confirm the actual venue mapping instead of assuming the former Location remains correct.
Stripe’s Austrian guidance lists WisePad 3 support, euro Terminal transactions and the requirement for the receiving account and reader Location to match the deployment country. The operator purchases and registers the reader through its own eligible local Stripe account. Rental payments enter that account.
Inspect before reconnecting customers
Check the cabinet, supplied power accessories, reader mount, cables and power-bank stock for damage. Isolate suspect components and follow the supplier’s inspection instructions. Do not treat an apparently charged indicator as proof that a stored bank or cable is ready for guest use.
In CoreCharge’s completed matched WisePad 3 integration, the native Android rental application and Terminal SDK run on the cabinet’s internal controller. The reader connects through the agreed Android USB route and cabinet power arrangement. No external merchant phone or tablet is needed for the ordinary integrated flow.
| Reopening check | Action | Record before approval |
|---|---|---|
| Physical identity | Match cabinet, reader and supplied accessories. | Identifiers and any replacement part. |
| Connection | Verify the agreed network and restart recovery. | Observed connection result at the installed position. |
| Reader readiness | Allow planned maintenance and check current regional software requirements. | Installed version and successful reader connection. |
| Commercial information | Review EUR tariff, authorization explanation and return hours. | Approved customer wording and effective date. |
| Rental acceptance | Borrow, return and reconcile a controlled order. | Order, physical events and payment reference. |
| Reception handover | Confirm the shift contact and issue-reporting route. | Named owner and opening checklist. |
Give software maintenance a quiet window
A reader that worked last season may need maintenance before its first public transaction. Compare its installed software with Stripe’s current Austrian requirements rather than copying an old version number into a permanent checklist. Reserve time with stable power and connectivity; do not discover a required update during a queue at reception.
Verify the cabinet application separately from the reader. A reader update is not evidence that the rental configuration or return recognition has passed. CoreCharge connects the order, dispensing, return, pricing and dashboard; Stripe handles the financial result. Both sides belong in the reopening record.
Rehearse the current guest journey
Read the displayed tariff as a first-time guest. Confirm German and any additional guest-facing language, the actual return entrance and the opening hours. Reader prompts can require further card interaction, so the mount must leave card insertion and PIN entry usable.
Complete one controlled live rental under the approved payment procedure. Follow the released bank through return and compare the final rental with the Stripe record. Rehearse cancellation before public operation. The existing first-station acceptance manual provides a broader evidence checklist; the test-to-live guide helps if account or environment configuration has changed.
Approve the opening, then review the first shift
Have reception confirm that stock, return capacity, pricing and support details are ready. Review the first operating period for unresolved orders or repeated questions. Reader availability does not approve every unattended arrangement; confirm the actual venue model and applicable equipment requirements before reopening.
Review the CoreCharge reader-ready station route, or request an Austrian hotel reopening checklist with your cabinet model, stored equipment and planned opening date.
