A power bank remains outside the station while its payment authorisation approaches expiry. The rental order and the financial permission are now following different clocks. For a Danish operator, the useful preparation is an expiry-review procedure agreed before this situation occurs.

The procedure should identify who checks the actual payment, which facts they review and what decisions the approved customer terms permit. It should not turn an approaching deadline into an automatic instruction to capture the full hold.

Use the payment’s deadline, not a default number of days

Stripe’s authorisation and capture guidance explains that validity depends on the payment conditions. For a confirmed Terminal card payment, inspect the actual capture_before information and current payment state with authorised access. Do not assign every Danish rental the same authorisation lifetime.

Record the deadline as an unambiguous timestamp, the time checked and the person who checked it. Decide a review margin appropriate to the operator’s staffing and technical response time. That margin is an operating choice, not extra time granted by the issuer.

Keep the local setup and the financial rule aligned

Stripe’s Denmark guide specifies DKK, a Danish receiving account and local reader Location, with WisePad 3 listed. The operator purchases and registers the eligible reader using its own account. Confirm the actual installation scenario and reader suitability separately from the expiry policy.

CoreCharge’s matched route runs the native Android rental application and Terminal SDK inside the cabinet through the approved USB and power arrangement, without an extra merchant phone. CoreCharge connects rental orders, release, returns and rent calculation. Stripe handles the money in the operator’s account.

Investigate a possible return before financial action

A customer may have attempted a return that the order has not yet recognised. Check the relevant unit, station and time before treating the bank as lost. An unexplained open order and a confirmed unreturned unit are different facts.

If the approved policy calls for an eligible capture before expiry, the reviewer must check the permitted amount and transaction state. Do not capture the entire authorisation merely because the deadline is near. Record the actual decision and result, including failures or uncertainty, against the same order.

Do not treat extended authorisation as a rescue button

Stripe’s extended-authorisation documentation describes eligibility by card and merchant conditions. Support for requesting an extended window does not establish that every payment qualifies, or that an existing hold can be prolonged on demand. Confirm availability and the actual resulting deadline for the chosen implementation.

Likewise, a stored reference to a card payment does not by itself guarantee a new off-session charge after expiry. A separate payment design, permissions, customer consent and failure handling would need review. Never promise certain collection of a higher non-return amount.

Make the review repeatable

Use a controlled test to show how the team identifies a near-expiry rental and records its decision. This is a proposed operator workpaper; it does not claim native automatic alerts or a scheduled expiry workflow. Keep customers’ existing support options available while the financial question is resolved.

The pricing and authorisation guide explains the commercial boundary. The release-versus-refund guide helps interpret the final customer-facing result.

Review CoreCharge reader-equipped stations or request a Denmark rental-expiry review plan for your proposed tariff and support coverage.
