Put the cabinet price screen, a printed tariff and the return instructions beside one another. If they describe different charging intervals or different return conditions, the customer has no reliable way to choose which one to trust. Translation review is therefore an operational control, not the last cosmetic step before delivery.
For a proposed Latvian reader-rental pilot, create one signed language pack that follows the guest from first approach to completed return. The useful deliverable includes the approved wording, where each phrase appears and who can authorize a later change.
Resolve preview access before promising a launch
Reviewed on 17 October 2026, Stripe’s Latvia country guidance labels Terminal Private preview. Before purchasing a reader or scheduling public use, obtain Stripe’s confirmation that the intended account and Latvian market have preview access. Do not infer general availability from the country listing.
The proposed local route uses an eligible Latvian Stripe account, a Latvian reader Location and EUR payments. Reader purchase and registration normally stay with the operator. Confirm the proposed installation and its staffing conditions separately; neither access nor a working integration is universal approval for unattended use.
Agree which surface can actually be changed
In the matched CoreCharge configuration, the native Android rental application and Terminal SDK run inside the cabinet, with WisePad 3 as the physical reader. An external phone or tablet is not the usual payment host. Stripe processes payments into the operator’s local account; CoreCharge relates payment results to orders, release, return, pricing and the dashboard.
That architecture does not mean every payment message is controlled by the rental application. Confirm the reader’s supported languages and settings directly. A translated cabinet screen cannot add an unsupported reader language. Where a surface cannot be configured as desired, agree a suitable customer instruction or operating approach before acceptance.
| Surface | Review task | Sign-off evidence |
|---|---|---|
| Price before borrowing | Check currency, interval, cap and any authorization explanation | Approved text linked to the configured tariff version |
| Reader interaction | Check available language and tap, insert or PIN prompts | Observed prompts on the actual local setup |
| Battery release | Explain the correct slot and customer action | Photo or recording of a controlled successful release |
| Return directions | Check participating stations and access hours | Approved location list and physical access review |
| Support response | Use the same tariff and payment terminology | Named reviewer and staff reference sheet |
Review meaning with a fresh reader
Ask a competent Latvian reviewer who has not configured the system to explain the rental rules back to the team. Can they distinguish a temporary authorization from the eventual rental amount? Can they say where to return the battery? Can they explain what happens when the station does not confirm a return?
If English is also offered, compare the two versions against the same master policy. Avoid translating each page independently from different drafts. Decide who owns the commercial meaning and who owns the language quality; neither reviewer should silently change the pricing model while correcting a phrase.
Rehearse the difficult messages
Include a cancelled attempt and a payment with no confirmed release in the review. Proposed support wording should describe what the team will check, without promising an instant refund or automatic resolution. The French localization guide offers a useful comparison of customer touchpoints, while the authorization and refund explanation helps keep financial terminology consistent.
Receipt delivery belongs in the same check. Do not promise an emailed receipt solely because a card was presented. Email collection, receipt settings and the integration must support the intended route. Give staff an agreed way to locate the order without requesting the guest’s full card details.
Keep approved wording attached to the release
Store the sign-off sheet with the cabinet identifier, application version, tariff reference and review date. When a price or return location changes, review every affected surface together. This is a proposed release procedure, not a claim of an automatic translation-management feature.
Review the CoreCharge reader-ready route and share the proposed Latvian venue and language requirements. After preview eligibility is confirmed, a surface-by-surface wording review makes the pilot much easier to hand over.
