A visitor sees a CHF rental price at a Swiss station and later sees a different amount in their home-currency banking app. Meanwhile, the operator compares rental totals with a bank deposit. These are related records, but they should not be treated as three copies of the same number.
For a Swiss reader-equipped power-bank project, prepare a currency reference sheet before opening. It should identify the rental currency, the authoritative payment record and the person who can investigate a conversion question without changing a correct rental.
Keep the customer tariff in CHF
Stripe’s Swiss Terminal guidance lists WisePad 3 and requires CHF transactions with a Swiss receiving account and reader Location. Its regional page also specifies reader software requirements. Check the installed reader against the current guidance during acceptance instead of freezing an old minimum version into sales material.
The operator buys and registers its reader through its own eligible local Stripe account. CoreCharge’s matched route runs a native Android application and Terminal SDK inside the cabinet, using the agreed USB reader connection. No external merchant phone is needed for the ordinary integrated flow.
Stripe processes payment into that account. CoreCharge links the rental order, dispensing, return and price calculation. A customer-facing CHF tariff should match the configured order amount and payment request; it should not be silently replaced by a familiar euro example.
Use three views without mixing their meanings
| View | What it tells you | What not to infer |
|---|---|---|
| Cabinet and rental order | The published CHF rule, rental duration and calculated rent. | The customer’s exact home-currency bank charge. |
| Stripe payment record | The original payment amount, currency and financial status. | That a bank payout has already arrived. |
| Operator settlement and payout | Relevant balance movements, fees and payout references. | That every rental in the period maps to one equal bank deposit. |
Explain a foreign-card question with evidence
Stripe’s currency guidance distinguishes payment presentation from settlement and notes that conversion can involve the card issuer or the operator’s settlement setup. Do not quote a visitor’s final exchange rate from the cabinet price, or promise on-device currency conversion unless that specific feature has been agreed and tested.
Start a support check with the station, approximate rental time and available order reference. Confirm the original CHF authorization or captured amount. If the rental record is correct but the customer queries their home-currency statement, provide the verified payment details so they can ask their issuer about conversion or issuer charges.
Do not collect a full card number, unrelated bank transactions or login information to investigate a currency difference. Separate a real pricing error from an issuer conversion question before approving a financial correction.
Distinguish a temporary hold from the final rent
A hold-based rental can add another apparent difference: a pending authorization may be larger than the eventual CHF rental charge. The relevant payment method must support the agreed capture flow, and its authorization conditions still apply. A returned bank does not prove that every bank statement has already refreshed.
The authorization release and refund guide helps classify that issue. Keep a pending amount, a captured rent and a refund as separate events; conversion does not remove those distinctions.
Close the operator’s books in a consistent view
For the chosen reporting period, export the relevant operating records and match completed rentals with payment references. Review Stripe balance activity, fees, refunds and payouts separately. If the operator uses another settlement currency, record that configuration and the applicable conversion entries rather than converting the cabinet total using an arbitrary daily rate.
The daily operating manual provides a structure for unresolved rows. Keep any proposed spreadsheet as an operator workpaper, not a promise that every reconciliation step is automatically built into CoreCharge.
Confirm reader suitability and the intended venue operating model before launch. Explore the CoreCharge physical-reader station route, or request a Swiss CHF acceptance and reconciliation outline with your venue and settlement setup.
