Two quotations each describe “one card-payment station,” but one includes power banks and the other excludes the reader, connectivity and delivery. The totals are not comparable until the contents are. A New Zealand operator should build a bill-of-materials comparison before choosing on headline price.
The worksheet should identify what is supplied, who purchases it and what evidence confirms compatibility. It also separates the one-time equipment package from recurring services and payment-provider costs, without assuming a universal fee or customer-specific concession.
Write the local payment assumption once
Stripe’s New Zealand guidance lists WisePad 3 and specifies NZD with a matching New Zealand receiving account and reader Location. The operator buys and registers the eligible reader through its own local account. Domestic eftpos-only cards are not supported through this route; supported co-brand rails are a separate distinction to confirm during acceptance.
CoreCharge’s matched integration uses the native Android rental application and Terminal SDK inside the cabinet, linked to WisePad 3 through the agreed USB data and power arrangement. No extra merchant phone is needed for ordinary use. CoreCharge connects orders, release, returns, rental rules and dashboard records; Stripe processes rental payments into the operator’s account.
Confirm the precise venue scenario and reader suitability before ordering. A payment-model description is not approval for every unattended installation.
Make the quantities explicit
| Quote line | What must be stated | Comparison question |
|---|---|---|
| Cabinet | Exact model, capacity, screen and quantity | Are both offers for equivalent equipment? |
| Power banks | Compatible model, fitted quantity and spare quantity | Are spares additional to the units filling the cabinet? |
| Reader | Model, local purchaser and inclusion or exclusion | Is the same reader being counted twice or omitted? |
| Mount and data connection | Agreed bracket, cable and installation scope | Can the locally purchased reader be fitted as specified? |
| Power and connectivity | Supplied power accessories, network option and data scope | Which items and renewals remain with the operator? |
| Delivery and support | Destination, freight basis, responsibilities and acceptance scope | Which costs or work are still unconfirmed? |
For a purely illustrative eight-slot order, “eight fitted banks plus two spares” means ten banks supplied. “Eight banks including two spares” leaves only six for initial filling. Resolve that wording in writing instead of assuming the lower price represents the same opening stock.
Keep local purchases visible
Stripe’s reader ordering guidance describes its hardware procurement channel. Confirm current access, availability and delivery terms for the actual account. A reader purchased directly by the operator should appear as a separate locally purchased item, not disappear from the project budget.
Ask who installs it, which supplied mount it uses and who performs the final test. Reader purchase, cabinet integration and venue acceptance are related tasks with distinct owners. Do not infer that every matching-looking reader can be substituted without a configuration review.
Compare scope before negotiating the total
Record the quotation currency and the date of any exchange-rate assumption used for your comparison. Mark freight or other unconfirmed lines as pending rather than treating them as zero. Confirm the named delivery destination and responsibilities with the supplier; a general shipping estimate is not a final landed-cost commitment.
List recurring connectivity and service obligations separately. Ask for the applicable written terms without assuming that another customer’s free period, warranty arrangement or integration concession applies to your order. Avoid mixing payment-provider fees into an equipment margin comparison.
Attach an acceptance deliverable
The final comparison should state what the supplied setup will demonstrate: correct operator account, reader connection, payment, physical release, return recognition and final amount. Retain the matched model and component list for later service.
The spare-stock planning guide helps identify useful reserves. Use the station acceptance manual to define the handover evidence.
