A power bank leaves venue A and returns to venue B. The customer has completed a convenient journey, but the operator now has one fewer unit at the origin and one more at the destination. Repeating that pattern can empty the lending site and fill the receiving site even when every individual rental works correctly.

A Norwegian operator should keep a cross-return journal for the agreed network. Its purpose is to explain stock movement and support rebalancing decisions. It is different from a one-time equipment handover or a commercial venue-share statement.

Limit the journal to an agreed compatible network

CoreCharge supports compatible same-network cross-station returns and provides device, battery, slot and rental records. Confirm that the two actual cabinets and their configuration belong to the intended network, then validate borrowing at one and returning at the other. Do not advertise acceptance at unrelated operators’ equipment.

For the matched reader route, the native Android rental application and Terminal SDK run inside the cabinet and connect WisePad 3 through the approved USB and power arrangement. An external merchant phone is unnecessary for the ordinary flow. Stripe processes rental payments in the operator’s account.

Stripe’s Norway guidance specifies NOK with a Norwegian receiving account and local Location, with WisePad 3 listed. The operator buys and registers its eligible reader. Confirm the actual venue and attended or unattended reader-use suitability separately.

Follow one unit through the journal

The following example concerns one identified power bank. Quantities show the effect of each event, not a claim that the proposed journal is a native warehouse feature.

Event Venue A stock effect Venue B stock effect Journal reference
Confirmed release at A One unit leaves No change Rental, unit and origin station
Confirmed return at B No new physical change One unit arrives Same rental and unit; destination station
Staff collect unit from B No change yet One unit leaves service stock Separate authorised transfer record
Unit received back at A One unit restored after agreed checks No further change Transfer receipt and receiving check

Keep units in transit or awaiting inspection in a separate category. A bank collected by a driver is not yet available for a customer at venue A. Record actual event times and the responsible person for manual movements.

Check stock conservation before blaming a payment

For each venue, reconcile opening stock, confirmed returns and replenishments against releases, removals and closing stock. Compare physical observations with available dashboard records and the CoreCharge Excel export fields agreed for the project. Investigate differences rather than silently changing a count to make the sheet balance.

A duplicate journal entry can exaggerate stock without creating a second physical unit. A missing recognised return can leave the rental open even when staff see a battery in the cabinet. Use the unit and order references to distinguish the cases.

Keep the payment owner attached to the original order

A return at venue B does not itself change the merchant receiving payment for the rental begun at A. The rental reference should remain connected to the correct payment record. Neither physical possession of a returned bank nor a journal total creates automatic Stripe settlement to a venue.

Stripe’s Location guidance helps identify where each reader operates; the inventory network and venue commercial agreement are additional operating decisions.

Use repeated movement to plan service

Review directional flows and return capacity before scheduling an inventory visit. Confirm opening hours and maintenance access at both ends. Avoid promising real-time availability or automated replenishment decisions that have not been agreed and tested.

The Norwegian asset handover guide establishes starting custody. The tourism return-network guide covers the customer-facing network promise.

Review CoreCharge reader-equipped stations or request a Norway cross-return test and journal outline with your proposed venue pair.
